Artefactourism: rumours and ruins / Premier on 8th of November 2022 / Sõltumatu Tantsu Lava / Tallinn

Artefactourism – is it a spaceship constructed from museum objects, a factory whistle blowing in the cultural industry, or a job advertisement looking for a professional stranger? Valeria Januškevitš, Sigrid Savi, Kadri Sirel ja Keity Pook explore how bodies affected by post-industrial society relate to (pre-)industrial environments, artefacts and practices, and translate their thoughts and experiences gathered from Estonian Open Air Museum, Kreenholm Manufacturing Company and Sõltumatu Tantsu Lava (the Independent Dance Stage) into a dance performance premiering on November 8th, 2022. The three stages of the creation process are linked by the concept of work: changing processes and understandings that mold bodies, manage time usage, and create possibilities, limitations and narratives to navigate in the world in a certain way.
